Why order this American 2018-S Proof Silver Eagle?

This Proof 2018-S Silver American Eagle is perfect for collectors starting or growing a proof series, as well as for those looking for a new way to enjoy the designs of their favorite bullion coin. It is part of the latest issue in the Silver Eagle Series, which dates back to 1986. The coin bears the San Francisco Mint's "S" mint mark, as it was struck there from one ounce of .999 fine silver.

Historic Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman

The obverse features the classic Walking Liberty design that once appeared on the half dollar and has been used for the Silver Eagle series since it began in 1986. Liberty is draped in the American flag as she bears laurel and oak branches. She extends her hand in front of her as though presenting the morning sun to the holder.

The reverse was designed specifically for this series by John Mercanti. An offshoot of the Great Seal of the United States, it features an eagle guarding a union shield. The eagle holds a ribbon with the words "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (From many, one) in its beak. In its talons it clutches arrows, symbols of military readiness, and an olive branch, a symbol of peace. Thirteen stars are arranged above the bird's head to represent the original states.

Flawless PF70 UC ER

This coin earned a Proof 70 grade from Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), which means that it is perfect even as seen under 5x magnification. It was also certified Ultra Cameo and First Releases.
