Why order this 2018-S American Proof Silver Eagle

This 2018-S Silver Eagle Proof is perfect for collectors who are looking for a display piece that bears the designs of the world's favorite bullion coin. Like that bullion coin, it was struck from one ounce of .999 fine silver. Unlike its bullion counterpart, it bears the "S" mint mark of the San Francisco Mint. The coin comes in its original packaging from the U.S. Mint. That packaging includes a blue velvet, satin-lined presentation case. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Famous Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman

Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty design, which was the obverse design on the half dollar from 1916-1947, returned for the Silver Eagle Series in 1986 and has remained on the coins in the series since then. It features Liberty at full stride. She has a Phrygian cap on her head and is draped in the American flag. She extends her right hand above the morning sun while carrying laurel and oak branches in her left. Laurel branches traditionally symbolize honors bestowed upon civilians, while oak branches symbolize the ones bestowed upon military members.

The reverse design is similar to the Great Seal of the United States, after which John Mercanti modeled it. An eagle guards a union shield under an arrangement of thirteen stars. The bird holds a ribbon in its beak and arrows and an olive branch in its claws.
