The right facing image is framed by a crenelated border accompanied by the inscriptions "KALAKAUA I KING OF HAWAII," the anniversary dates "1893-2018" and the Royal Hawaiian Mint mark "RHM."
A representation of the Coat of Arms utilized by the Royal Hawaiian Kingdom while under the rule of Kalakaua is illustrated on the reverse. Inscriptions include "ROYAL HAWAIIAN SILVER," "AKAHI DALA," "ONE OUNCE" and ".999 SILVER."
