The U.S. Mint honors the bravery and sacrifice of those who served in the American military during World War I with this commemorative silver dollar release. The 2018 dated coin marks the 100th Anniversary of the Great War's conclusion. Minted in Philadelphia, the 38.10 mm diameter coin is struck from 0.7736 Troy oz. of .900 fine silver, it is part of a mintage limited to 350,000. The Mint dedicated the $10 surcharge collected from the sale of each silver dollar coin to the World War I Centennial Commission.

The obverse depicts a battle ready, helmeted soldier near a barbed wire barrier, surrounded by the inscriptions "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST" "1918" and "2018."
Remembrance poppies are featured on the reverse, entwined with coils of barbed wire. Inscribed "ONE DOLLAR," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "P" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA."
