Why add the 2018-P Australia 5 oz High Relief Silver Wedge-Tailed Eagle Proof $8 Coin NGC PF69 UC Mercanti Signed Label to your collection?
This 2018-P Australia 5 oz. High Relief Silver Wedge-Tailed Eagle Proof $8 Coin achieved the high collector grade of Proof 69 (PF69) and the Ultra Cameo (UC) designation from the experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). It features a low mintage of 2,500 coins and was encapsulated with the collectible John Mercanti hand-signed label. Australia's fabled Perth Mint first struck the wildly popular Wedge-Tailed Eagle series in 2014. Numismatists and stackers alike are drawn to the innovative design and classic symbolism. To mark the fifth issue of the series, the 2018 design is a one year only design. The coin was struck in exquisite high relief on a 5 oz. .9999 fine silver planchet.
One Year Only Design
The stirring new reverse design for this edition of the Wedge-Tailed Eagle series features three eagles: a flying eagle, an adult eagle and a hatchling. The image was designed by John Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. The obverse has the familiar effigy of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, as envisioned by British artist Ian Rank Broadley.
High Relief...and everything else
This issue is Numismatic perfection: high collector grade, fabulous cameo contrast, sought after collectible label and fantastic high relief!
