Struck at the New Zealand Mint in 2018, this unique coin celebrates the first Star Wars film from the prequel movie, The Phantom Menace. The film goes back in time to the origin story of Darth Vader through the discovery of nine-year-old Anakin Skywalker, with the story focusing on Anakin's talent with the Force and the reemergence of the Sith order. The coin features the original poster released with the film and has a limited mintage of only 10,000 coins released worldwide.

Featuring the original poster for The Phantom Menace

The obverse bears Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The design is inscribed with "ELIZABETH II," "NIUE," "2018" and the coins legal tender value "2 DOLLARS."

The reverse of the coin features a replica the of the poster released in tandem with the Star Wars film, The Phantom Menace. The design cleverly includes both the color and engraving.
