Classic Dutch "Lion Dollar" Trade coin design
The obverse image is a standing knight holding a shield featuring a Rampant Lion. The image is encircled by two beadwork rims. The reverse has the same Rampant Lion depicted much larger than the obverse surrounded by two beadwork circles and inscriptions. The design was directly digitally transferred and enhanced from the original, historic strikes from 1617.
Beautiful Perfect Proof 70 example
Proofs require special preparation of the dies and coin blanks to achieve their legendary high quality. This preparation results in brilliant, often contrasting--or "Cameo"--finish that is coveted by collectors the world over. This example was found to be flawless when examined under magnification. The coin was graded within 30 days of release and qualified for the FR designation.
