Why purchase this 2018-Mo 5 oz. Silver Libertad coin of Mexico?
The Silver Libertad was introduced in 1982, its design based on Mexico's Centenario gold coin which was struck from 1921 to 1947, featuring the image of Winged Victoria. The design for the Libertad series was modified slightly, portraying the Angel from a different angle with increased detail. Produced by the Casa de Moneda de Mexico, North America's oldest functioning Mint, this 2018 Libertad coin measures 65 mm in diameter and is 5.4 mm in thickness, struck from 5 full Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
Magnificently Detailed Classic Imagery
Winged Victoria stands with graceful elegance with a wreath in her outstretched hand on the reverse, with the volcanoes Popocat?petl and Iztaccihuatl dominating the Mexican landscape in the background. Inscriptions include "5 ONZA PLATA PURA 2018 LEY .999" and the Mint's mark "OM."
The obverse depicts a collection of historic Coats of Arms used by Mexico, with the currently used version centered, encircled by the inscription "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" (United Mexican States) above and a wreath below.
