Why purchase this £5 British 2018 2 oz Silver Queen's Beasts Unicorn of Scotland
This 2 oz Silver 2018 £5 British Unicorn of Scotland is the fourth coin in the Queen's Beasts series, which will consist of ten coins in total. Each coin in the series will bear a creature that was portrayed in statue in Westminster Abbey at Queen Elizabeth II's portrait in 1953. This piece was struck at the Royal Mint from .9999 fine silver.
Historic Unicorn of Scotland Design by Jody Clark
Queen Elizabeth II's portrait by Jody Clark is enhanced by a new guilloche design. Clark's portrait of the monarch shows her with the Royal Diamond Diadem, the same crown that she wore at her coronation, on her head.
On the reverse, the Unicorn of Scotland stands on its hind legs. One of its front legs rests on a shield that bears a second symbol of Scotland, a lion rampant. "UNICORN OF SCOTLAND" is inscribed along the rim, as are inscriptions of the coin's weight, purity, and date.
Virtually Perfect MS69 ER with Exclusive Great Britain Label
This coin received the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's second highest grade, Mint State 69, which indicates that it is flawless as seen by the naked eye but has at least one minuscule imperfection. NGC provided that grade on an exclusive Great Britain label, which features an image of the country's most famous landmark, Big Ben.
