Design Replicating the Artistry of Utagawa Hiroshige
A portion of the c.1845 Japanese masterpiece titled "Tairo no Kiyomori's Spectral Vision" adorns the reverse, illustrating Kiyomori dressed in an elaborate robe, seated near a garden filled with haunting snow covered skull shapes. Inscribed "KIYOMORI" above.
The obverse features the Coat of Arms for Fiji, along with the inscriptions "FIJI 2018," "1 DOLLAR," "1 TROY OZ" and "999 FINE SILVER," encircled by a collection of Japanese quilt-like patterns depicted on an unseen panel of Hiroshige's original woodblock print.
