The image of George Washington is featured on the obverse. The portrait created by sculptor John Flanagan in 1932 is surrounded by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "QUARTER DOLLAR" and the "P" Mint mark.
