Breathtaking Design Details
Chiwoo is featured on the reverse, seated on a swiftly moving warhorse with his sword drawn, dressed in elaborately detailed armor and a horned helmet. The image includes the inscription "CHIWOO CHEONWANG."
The obverse is dominated by a representation of the warrior's shield, which is adorned with the face of "Do ggae bi," a mythical, supernatural creature of Korean folklore known for its ability to ward off evil spirits. Inscriptions include "2018 FINE SILVER 999," "REPUBLIC OF KOREA" "1 CLAY," the KOMSCO logo and in a lenticular circle: "AG/999." The unique concept measurement of 1 clay is meant to equate the value of silver with a certain amount of land.
