The Moon Festival Panda Medal series has been produced by the China Mint since 2015, each year's low mintage release featuring a unique minting innovation such as a high relief strike and hologram imagery. This 2018 proof medallion, struck from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver, is adorned with an authentic Chinese White Jade gemstone to represent the moon. Mintage of the 40 mm diameter medal is limited to an amazingly low 1,888.
Stunning Panda Design Embellished with White Jade
A Giant Panda is depicted on the obverse, gazing thoughtfully at the moon. Inscribed "MOON FESTIVAL" and "1 OZ AG .999."
A picturesque view of the Great Wall of China appears on the reverse, with an armillary sphere encircled above, "2018" inscribed below. The sphere is an ancient Chinese invention which maps the position of celestial bodies.

This 2018 China Moon Festival Silver Panda 1 oz. Silver Proof Medal is has been reviewed by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and deemed to be in GEM Proof condition, which is equivalent to a Sheldon Scale grade of 65 or higher. The medal is encapsulated in a NGC holder accompanied by a First Releases certification label confirming that the medallion was submitted to the grading service within the first thirty days following release.
