Why purchase this 2018 Canadian Predator Series: Wolf 1 oz. Silver coin?
The Royal Canadian Mint introduced the Silver Predator Series in 2016 with imagery of a cougar, followed by a design featuring a lynx in 2017. This 2018 release of the bullion series, dedicated to the Wolf, has had its mintage reduced to 300,000 coins; mintage of the previous release was 500,000. The Wolf coin is struck from 1 Troy oz. of .9999 fine silver, its diameter measuring of 38 mm.
Gorgeous Imagery by Canadian artist Nathalie Lagace
The reverse features a dramatic illustration of a wolf in a powerful mid-leap, its jaws opened in a fierce growl. The image is surrounded by a finely lined security field which includes a dated maple leaf privy mark. Inscribed "CANADA," "9999," and "FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR."
The right-facing portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, sculpted by Susanna Blunt graces the obverse, encircled by the inscription "ELIZABETH II," "5 DOLLARS," "D.G. REGINA" and "2018."
