Why purchase this America the Beautiful 5 oz. Silver Block Island Quarter with a hand signed label?
The 45th design of the U.S. Mint's America the Beautiful series is dedicated to Rhode Island's Block Island National Wildlife Refuge. This bullion coin is superbly struck from 5 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver with a diameter measuring 76.2 mm.
Magnificently Detailed Design by Chris Costello and Phebe Hemphill
"RHODE ISLAND," "BLOCK ISLAND," "2018" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" are inscribed on the reverse, framing the image of a black-crowned night-heron in graceful flight above the pebbled shoreline of Cow Cove, with the North Lighthouse in the background. The coin features a smooth edge lettered with ".999 FINE SILVER 5.0 OUNCE."
The iconic portrait of George Washington as sculpted by John Flanagan in 1932 adorns the obverse. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "QUARTER DOLLAR."
