Why purchase this $50 American 2018 1 oz. Gold Buffalo?
This 2018 $50 American 1 oz. Gold Buffalo combines modern minting technology with a historic numismatic design. The coin is the only American bullion issue that is struck from .9999 fine gold. It lacks a Mint mark, but like its proof counterpart, it was struck at the West Point Mint.
Traditional Buffalo Design by James Earle Fraser
On the obverse is a right-side portrait of an American Indian. Shown from the right side, he has distinct facial features. His long hair is held down in front of his shoulders, and he has feathers adorning the back of his head. Inscriptions include the date, "2018," "LIBERTY," and an "F," for Fraser.
On the reverse is an American bison, an animal that represents the country that issues this coin and issued the buffalo nickel. Fraser captures the size of the massive animal by using the full horizontal diameter of the coin.
Perfect MS70 FDI with Black Core Holder
The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified that this coin is in perfect condition by awarding it their highest grade, Mint State 70. They also certified that it went through an exclusive submission process that enabled them to guaranty that it came from the First Day of Issue.
