Why order this 2018 $50 American 1 oz. Gold Buffalo
For collectors who love historic numismatic designs, this $50 American 2018 1 oz. Gold Buffalo is a fantastic choice. It is the latest issue in a series that began in 2006. Like its proof counterpart, the coin was struck from .9999 fine gold at the West Point Mint.
Historic Designs of James Earle Fraser
James Earle Fraser created the designs that appear on both faces of this coin. On the obverse is a right-side portrait of an aging Native American man. He has feathers tied up at the back of his head, and his long, straight hair is tied down over his shoulder. "LIBERTY" is inscribed in the upper right, and the date, "2018," and an "F" for "Fraser" are in the lower left.
A bison is shown from the left on the reverse. The face value of the coin, "$50," is inscribed below, and the weight and purity of the coin, "1 OZ. .9999 FINE GOLD," are inscribed below that.
Virtually Flawless MS69 FDI
This coin was designated a First Day of Issue by the experts at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), which means that it went through an exclusive submission process. NGC gave the coin a grade of Mint State 69 (MS69), which means that it has minuscule imperfections but appears flawless to the naked eye.
