Why purchase this 2018 $10 American 1/4 oz. Gold Eagle
This 1/4 oz. Gold 2018 $10 American Eagle is the latest issue in a series that dates back to 1986. The Gold Eagle has become the world's most popular gold bullion coin in part due to the famous design that it bears on the obverse. This is the second smallest of four sizes in the issue, and it was struck at the West Point Mint from .9167 fine gold.
Stunning Saint-Gaudens Design
Augustus Saint-Gaudens designed the obverse image for the double eagle, where it was from 1907-1933. Considered by many to be the most beautiful design in the history of numismatics, it features Liberty facing the holder with her torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. The morning sun's rays emerge from beyond the horizon, combining with the miniature Capitol Dome to make Liberty appear larger than life.
Miley Busiek designed the reverse specifically for this series. It consists of a family of eagles, the male returning to its nest with an olive branch and the female watching its mate's return as she tends to their young.
Perfect MS70 FDI
The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified that this coin was a First Day of Issue, an exclusive designation reserved for coins that went through a unique submission process. They also certified it as being in Mint State 70 (MS70) condition, which means that it is flawless as seen under 5x magnification.
