Why purchase this 2-Coin 2017-W Burnished American Silver Eagle Set?
This Burnished 2017-W American Silver Eagle 2-Coin Set features a pair of perfect coins. Both were struck from .999 fine silver on burnished blanks at the West Point Mint and bear that Mint's "W" Mint mark. The set is a great choice for those who like connections to leaders in numismatics because of their labels.
Stunning Walking Liberty design by Adolph Weinman
The Walking Liberty design that appears on the obverse of both of these coins was created by Adolph Weinman and first appeared on the half dollar. It features the allegorical figure striding in the direction of the morning sun, carrying with her branches of laurel and oak, which symbolize honors bestowed upon civilians and members of the military, respectively. John Mercanti designed the reverse image of an eagle guarding a union shield under thirteen stars.
Flawless Mint State 70 First Day Issue with black core holders and Jones & Mercanti signed labels
Both coins in this set went through a unique submission process that enabled the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) to certify them as First Day of Issue. They are in perfect condition as seen under 5x magnification, which is why NGC gave them the highest available grade, Mint State 70. NGC set the coins in black core holders and provided grading information on labels that were signed by Elizabeth Jones and John Mercanti.
