Stunning Elephant Design

The obverse of the coin features the arms of Somalia supported by rampant leopards. At the bottom are two crossed palm fronds and two crossed spears. Inscriptions include the name of the issuing country, "SOMALI REPUBLIC," the date, "2017" and the coin's face value, "100 SHILLINGS."

On the reverse is an elephant shown at an angle. Its trunk is raised, and its tusks extend into the rim frame. To the right is a barren tree from which two birds are taking flight. Rim inscriptions include "AFRICAN WILDLIFE," "ELEPHANT" and "1 OZ AG 999.9."
