Dramatic Detailed Three Dimensional Design
The reverse of this high relief, skull shaped-coin features the complete bone structure of a human head, embellished with the traditional hoop earrings and head bandanna of a pirate. The antiqued finish provides additional depth to the recessed elements of the design such as the eye and nose cavities.
Illustrated on the obverse is the Coat of Arms of Palau, an underwater scene depicting a graceful mermaid beside the god Neptune, with the inscription "RAINBOW'S END" below. Additional inscriptions include "REPUBLIC OF PALAU," "5$," ".999" and "2017."
