Design Illustrating an Ellis Island Arrival
The reverse, designed by Barbara Fox and Phebe Hemphill, depicts a hopeful immigrant family arriving at Ellis Island, the young boy enthusiastically waving an American flag. Inscribed "ELLIS ISLAND," "NEW JERSEY," "2017" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
The obverse portrait of George Washington was created by New York sculptor John Flanagan in 1932. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "P" and "QUARTER DOLLAR." The coin's smooth edge features the inscription ".999 FINE SILVER 5.0 OUNCE."

This 2017-P 5 oz. Silver America the Beautiful Ellis Island coin is graded a nearly perfect Specimen 69 by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS).
