The fourth release of the series features imagery of the magnificent bird created by John Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. This 40.60 mm diameter 2017-P Wedge-Tailed Eagle coin is flawlessly struck from 1 full Troy oz. of .999 fine silver to a spectacular Mint State finish.
Breathtaking Eagle Design
An incredibly detailed Wedge-Tailed Eagle is featured on the reverse, regally perched on a tree branch. The inscriptions "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE," "2017 1 OZ .999 SILVER" and the Perth Mint's Mint mark "P" surround the image.
The classic profile image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II adorns the obverse, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, inscribed "ELIZABETH II," "AUSTRALIA" and "1 DOLLAR."

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) graded this 2017-P Australia Wedge-Tailed Eagle 1 oz. Silver Dollar a flawless Mint State (MS) 70. The perfectly struck coin is encapsulated in an NGC holder accompanied by a highly collectible Australian Flag design label, hand signed by Ed Harbuz. Mr. Harbuz is the only person to have held the position of Mint Director in two different countries, at the South African Mint from 1995-2001, and then the Perth Mint from 2003 until his retirement in 2015.
