Spectacular Mercanti Design
The reverse of the coin features the second design from John M. Mercanti for this landmark series. The image features the Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle, perched on a branch in the Outback. Mr. Mercanti is a leading light in the world of Numismatic design. He served as 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. The obverse of the coin features the timeless Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
