Why add this Mint State 69 2017 Australia $1 1 oz. Silver Koala to your collection?
Released every year since 2007 by the Perth Mint, the Silver Koala coin series is a popular choice for both stackers and collectors. Not only does it boast very high silver content, at 1 oz. of .999 fine silver, but it also has reverse designs of a koala that change annually. 2017's release features a limited mintage from the series of just 300,000 of these coins struck, making it a deft addition to any collection.
Featuring one of Australia's most recognizable and loved creatures - the koala bear
The obverse features the fourth portrait to appear on Australian coinage of Queen Elizabeth II. This effigy was introduced in 1998 and is the work of the much-admired sculptor, Ian Rank-Broadley.
Depicted on the reverse is a koala bear sitting beneath a large eucalyptus tree. Below and above the image rest inscriptions which read; "AUSTRALIAN KOALA," long with "2017." Another tree appears in the background, completing the image.
