Why add the Mint State 70 2017-Mo Mexico 1 oz Silver Libertad with the Early Releases designation to your collection?
The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) graded this 2017-Mo Mexico 1 oz Silver Libertad Onza at the top possible grade of Mint State 70 and gave it the Early Releases designation. The Libertad series was introduced in 1982 by the Mexican Mint. The Mexican Mint is the oldest continuously operating Mint in the Western Hemisphere. It was founded in 1535 to strike coinage for Spain from precious metals mined from local sources. Each silver Libertad is struck on a 1 oz., .999 fine silver planchet.
Design from Mexican Independence
The obverse of the coin features the Angel of Independence. This is a "Winged Victory" statue standing on top of a column. The Angel holds a laurel wreath in her right hand and broken chains in her left. The reverse of the onza features the image of a Golden Eagle eating a snake while perched on a cactus. This is the current Mexican Coat of Arms. This image is surrounded by previously used versions of the Mexican Coat of Arms.
Flawless Mint State 70 Early Releases
Mint State 70 coins and rounds are found to be without imperfections when they are examined under magnification. They have lustrous, original surfaces and abundant eye appeal. This example qualified for the Early Releases designation.
