Featured on the obverse is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. This portrait was created by British Mint engraver Jody Clark and is the fifth of such effigies to appear on British coinage since 1953.
Depicted on the reverse is the highly-admired work of Philip Nathan and his design of Britannia. She is depicted standing on a shore holding a trident, shield and olive branch in her arms, this image was meant to evoke the feelings of strength and integrity of spirit.

This Silver Britannia was graded within the first thirty days of release by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and achieved the grade of Mint State 69. This is the second highest grade a coin can receive and is used to describe a well-struck coin with only small, nearly imperceptible imperfections.
