Why add this Early Releases 2017 Chergach Meteorite Strike Gilded Silver coin to your collection?
The Chergach meteorite struck the earth on July 2nd or 3rd, 2007, near Timbuktu. This high relief coin produced by Coin Invest Trust with smartminting technology commemorates the astronomical event and includes a piece of the meteorite! The gilded coin issued by the Cook Islands is struck from 1/2 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver with a diameter of 38.61 mm and a mintage limited to 2,500.
Incredible High Relief Gilded Meteorite Strike Design
The reverse is concave in shape, detailed with texture and stress fractures to replicate the damage left behind the meteorite strike, with an actual break through the coin at the center. A genuine fragment of the Chergach meteorite is permanently embedded in the crater. Inscribed "CHERGACH METEORITE" near the edge.
The effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley is located on the obverse, to the left of the coin's puncture. Inscribed "ELIZABETH II," "COOK ISLANDS," "2 DOLLARS" and "2017."

There are, however, a few very unique coins struck by various Mints around the world that break these conformities. From domed coins to volcano shaped coins, you will be surprised the examples ModernCoinMart has to offer!
