Why Choose This GEM 2017 Cook Islands Ultra High Relief 5 oz. Silver Everest Coin in Original Packaging?
In 2017 the Everest design was added to the Cook Islands 7 Summits series of coins. There will be a total of 7 designs in this series, each one will depict the highest mountain of a continent. This ultra high relief coin was struck by Mayer Mint. Mintage is limited to just 777 pieces. It is made of .999 fine silver and weighs 5 Troy oz.
Stunning Everest Design
If you're looking for the face value inscription, it can be found on the obverse. This side is also inscribed with "ELIZABETH II" and "COOK ISLANDS." The detailed portrait of Queen Elizabeth II at the center is the work of Ian Rank-Broadley.
The design on the reverse depicts Mount Everest as it would appear from above. The name of the series can be found near the bottom of the design. This side is also inscribed with the name of the mountain, its height and the range it is a part of.
GEM BU in OGP
