2017 Denver ANA Show
Like all Show Pandas, this release features elements that commemorate the show, and the history of numismatics.
On the obverse, we find a design taken from the reverse of the 2006 China Silver Panda, which shows two Giant Pandas chewing stalks of bamboo. A detailed rendition of the ANA's logo appears in the very center of the design, between the bears.
Two historic designs are present on the reverse, arranged in the same pattern as the reverse of the 1987 Sino-Japanese Show Panda. The first is the Great Wall of China design present on the 1987 medal, while the other is a U.S. coin - the iconic 1860 Clark Gruber & Co. Pike's Peak $10 Gold Eagle. Like the 20-year-old Sino-Japanese Show Panda, this design commemorates friendship from China.
