Why order this $20 Canadian 2017 Master of the Land Timber Wolf Scalloped Silver Proof?
This Scalloped Silver Proof 2017 Master of the Land Timber Wolf is perfect for animal lovers, especially those who can appreciate the beauty and power of wolves. The coin is the third in a series of scallop-shaped by the Royal Canadian Mint that honor iconic Canadian animals. It was struck from 26.51 g of .9999 fine silver and is part of a mintage of just 6,000 pieces.
Powerful Wolf Pack Design
On the obverse is the same portrait of Queen Elizabeth II that appears on nearly all Canadian issues. Designed by Susanna Blunt, it shows the monarch wearing earrings and a necklace but no crown. "CANADA" is inscribed just above the portrait, while the queen's name and title, "ELIZABETH II D.G. REGINA" (Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, Queen) are split by the country of issue.
The reverse design puts the holder right into the wolf pack. It features three wolves with their heads lifted up as they howl powerfully at the moon, sending a message to all that they dominate the Canadian wilderness. The face value of the coin, "20 DOLLARS," is inscribed at the top, while the date, "2017," is included below.
