Stunning rabbit design by Alex Colville
The designs on both faces of this coin are the same that were used on the piece that it honors. Arnold Machin's obverse image of Queen Elizabeth II shows the youthful monarch wearing the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" tiara, which was a wedding gift from Queen Mary, her grandmother.
On the reverse is Alex Colville's rabbit design. It shows the animal mid-hop, bounding forward on the strength of its hind legs.
