This incredibly detailed proof measures 40 mm in diameter, struck from 1 Troy oz. of .9999 fine silver, with a mintage limit of 7,500 coins.
Historic consolidated Canso in action
Canadian artist David A. Oram designed the reverse imagery, depicting a Consolidated Canso aircraft in flight above the Atlantic Ocean, fully colorized with a blue and green camouflage pattern. Inscribed "CANADA 2017" above, with "CONSOLIDATED CANSO" on a banner below.
King George VI, the monarch during World War II, appears on the obverse, as struck from 1937-1952 on coinage of Canada, and includes the Latin inscription "GEORGIVS VI D: G: REX ET IND: IMP:" (George VI, King and Emperor of India by the Grace of God) and "20 DOLLARS."
