Why buy this $5 Canadian 2017 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf - Moose Privy Reverse Proof
This Reverse Proof 2017 $5 Canadian 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf - Moose Privy provides collectors with a unique look at the designs that appear on Canada's popular bullion coin, as well as a privy mark of one of the country's most famous animals. Part of a limited mintage of just 50,000 pieces, the coin was struck from .9999 fine silver at the Royal Canadian Mint.
Exquisite Maple Leaf Design
Like other Canadian coins, this one features Susanna Blunt's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Unlike the portraits of the monarch that appear on the coinage of other country's Blunt's image shows her without a tiara or crown.
On the reverse are two symbols that are closely associated with Canada, the maple leaf, which appears on the country's annual bullion coin, and a moose, which appears as a privy mark next to the stem of the leaf. Both are executed in fine detail. The weight, purity, and name of the issuing country are all inscribed on this face of the coin.
Virtually Flawless PF69 with Exclusive Canada Label
The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's(NGC) experts found only a very few minuscule imperfections on this coin, so they gave it their second highest grade, Proof 69. This grade is provided on a label that honors the country that issued the coin with its flag and one of its most famous landmarks, Niagara Falls.
