Why order this First Day of Issue Mint State 70 2017 American Silver Eagle?
Collectors of this popular bullion series are sure to appreciate this American 2017 Silver Eagle. It was struck either at the West Point Mint or the San Francisco Mint from .999 fine silver. This coin was one of the first of its kind ever issued.
Iconic Walking Liberty design of Adolph Weinman
Both the obverse and reverse of this Silver Eagle share the same design as previous editions. On the obverse is the image taken from Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty Half Dollar. It depicts the figure who gives the coin its name striding in the direction of the rising sun, carrying branches of laurel and oak with her. She dons a Phrygian cap, a symbol of her freedom.
John Mercanti's reverse design depicts the national bird, an eagle, protection a shield, a symbol of the United States. Mercanti based the image off of the Great Seal of the United States, which, like the reverse, also includes thirteen stars as symbols of the original states.
Perfect Mint State 70 First Day of Issue with Mercanti signed label
