Why choose this Mint State 70 2016-(S) Silver Eagle with a black core slab?
Of all the coins offered by the U.S. Mint, the American Silver Eagle is one of the most popular. The coin shown here was minted in San Francisco in 2016. Since this is the bullion version it doesn't have a Mint mark, but its Mint of origin was verified by its original packaging.
Exquisitely detailed Liberty and bald Eagle designs
The detailed Liberty design on the obverse was created over a century ago by Adolph A. Weinman. Here, Liberty can be seen walking with a bundle of oak and laurel branches.
The symbolic design on the reverse is the work of John Mercanti. The bald eagle is pictured with a bundle of arrows, an olive branch, a shield, and a banner.

This 2016-(S) Silver Eagle is completely free of imperfections, even when examined with magnification. That it why it received the grade of Mint State 70 when it was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). A permanently sealed black core holder now protects this coin.
