2016-P Australia 1 oz Silver Kangaroo
This is the first-ever one ounce silver Australian Kangaroo bullion issue coin issued by the Perth Mint of Australia. Previously minted by the Royal Australian Mint, this new issue carries security on silver coins to a new level.
Each coin has micro engraving minted right into the surface of the coin that allows collectors to authenticate their coins with modest magnification. Each mint sealed tube of 2016 Australian Kangaroo coins is sealed with a special tamper evident hologram sticker easily showing whether the tube has been opened. This gives buyers confidence when they buy tubes of these coins that if the sticker is intact, the coins inside have not been seen since they left the mint in Perth.
This product is a sealed box - 250 one ounce coins, sealed inside a box, then further sealed inside 10 tubes of 25 coins per tube, each having a tamper evident sticker across its cap!
2016-P Australia Kangaroo Design
As with all coins issued by the Australian authorities, the obverse design of this coin includes the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as the prominent feature of the design. Around her head the table reads, "ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 1 DOLLAR." The designer initials "IRB" show directly beneath the truncation of the bust.
The reverse design shows a Red Kangaroo in its center with a radiating sunburst all around the Kangaroo in the center. The table around the edges reads, "AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO, 2016 1OZ 9999 SILVER." The "P" mint mark (for Perth) is prominently displayed on the right side of the design at the 3 o'clock position in the table.
The Australian Kangaroo series has been a hit with collectors since its debut in 1993. Collectors await these coins each year to see the new and different design and to pick up theirs to continue their collections. They are minted of .9999 fine silver, which makes them among the highest quality silver coins sold by any source in the world. They have a nominal value of one dollar, which guarantees backing of the Australian government for their purity and silver content. Buy yours today!
