Why add the 10 oz. Panda Moon Festival Silver GEM Proof Medal to your collection?
The Moon Festival has been celebrated in China since the period of the Shang Dynasty (c. 1600-1046 BC), as a time to give thanks for blessings such as family, fortune, and harvest. Struck to commemorate the event by the Shenzhen Guobao Mint, this 2016 Panda: Moon Festival Proof Medal is struck from 10 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver, has weight of 311g, and measures an impressive 70mm (2.75 inches) in diameter. Only 3,000 of these were struck!
Beautiful High Relief Design
The obverse depicts the nighttime scene of a pair of giant panda resting beside bamboo stalks, with an enormous moon just above the horizon. Inscribed "MOON FESTIVAL" in English and Chinese, and "10 OZ AG 999." The reverse depicts the majestic Great Wall of China, "2016" below. Framed in a small circle above is an illustration of an ancient Chinese armillary sphere, a remarkable Chinese invention which models the locations of the moon and other heavenly objects within a complex framework of rings.

This 2016 China 10 oz. High Relief Proof Silver Panda: Moon Festival Medal earned the designation of GEM Proof from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), and includes a Certificate of Authenticity from the Shenzhen Guobao Mint.
