Why add this gorgeous 2015 proof release of the 1 oz. American Gold Eagle coin to your collection?

The American Gold Eagle was introduced in 1986 as part of the U.S. Mint's American Eagle Bullion Program simultaneously with the Silver Eagle. As the official gold bullion coin of the United States, the coin has been minted annually ever since. Having a $50 legal tender value, this 2015-W Proof Gold Eagle coin is struck from 1 full Troy oz. of .9167 fine gold. Carrying the "W" Mint mark, this coin was struck at the U.S. Mint's New York facility in West Point, with a reported final Proof issue mintage of 32,652 coins.

Exceptional Patriotic Imagery

The obverse features a revival of the classic vision of Lady Liberty as struck on the 1907 $20 Double Eagle, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The beautiful Lady is depicted striding forward with the rays of a rising sun behind, while carrying an olive branch and flaming torch. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2015" and "W."

Designed by Miley Busiek, an American bald eagle returning to his nesting family adorns the reverse, with the gift of an olive branch gripped in its talons.

Spectacular Proof 69 Ultra Cameo

This 2015-W 1 oz. Gold American Eagle Proof has been graded by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) to be a virtually flawless Proof 69, with the additional certification of Ultra Cameo (UC) for the high degree of contrast between the frosted and mirrored surfaces.
