Why add this 2015-W $10 1/2 oz. Proof Gold First Spouse - Lady Bird Johnson NGC PF69 UC to your collection
This 2015-W ½ oz. Proof Gold Lady Bird Johnson is ideal for collectors who have an admiration either for her and her husband’s work or for Washington, D.C. The latter is because the reverse of the coin honors Lady Bird Johnson’s commitment to conservation and beautification. Those efforts started in Washington, which makes it fitting that two of the District’s most famous attractions, the Jefferson Memorial and the Washington Monument, are depicted on the reverse. Flowers adorn the bottom and right side of the image, while the inscription “BEAUTIFY OUR CITIES, PARKS & HIGHWAYS” appears above the edifices. Inscriptions along the rim include the coin’s face value, “$10,” and information about its metal content: “1/2 OZ. .9999 FINE GOLD.” On the obverse of the coin is a portrait of Mrs. Johnson. Her shoulders are turned toward the left of the holder, but her head is turned to face the holder directly. The name by which she is commonly known, “LADY BIRD JOHNSON,” is inscribed at the top, while inscriptions at the bottom provide her ordinal place in the line of First Ladies, “36TH,” and the term during which she held the post, “1963-1969.” This coin has only one or two non-detracting flaws, which resulted in its grade of PF69 Ultra Cameo from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).
This 2015-W Lady Bird Johnson First Spouse Gold Proof $10 NGC PF69 UC is proudly minted by the U.S. Mint. The United States Mint was founded in 1792 and manufactures circulating, collectible, and bullion coinage.
