This 2015-S U.S. Marshals Service Anniversary Clad Half Dollar is sure to appeal not only to those who serve or have served in the U.S. Marshals Service but also to other law enforcement personal and their families. The coin was issued to mark the 225th Anniversary of the Service, and the images on the obverse captures the considerable changes that have taken place over that time. One of those images features a Marshal of the Old West holding his gun in one hand and the reins of his horse in the other. The other features a modern day Marshal, a woman decked out in tactical gear. The reverse design features several symbols, the most noticeable of which is the blindfolded Lady Justice, who holds her scales high in her left hand while holding a Marshals star in the other. The U.S. Constitution refers to the role that the Marshals play in enforcing the law and protecting people, while several other objects represent various duties that those in the Service have had over their long history. This proof half dollar was designated as an Early Release by the NGC.
