The U.S. Mint introduced the America the Beautiful series of coins in 2010 and it is scheduled to reach its end in 2021. This 2015 quarter features the Saratoga design. It's made of .999 fine silver and weighs 5 Troy oz. It was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and has a burnished finish.

Capturing a Historic Moment

The obverse shows George Washington facing the left. The face value is located below this highly detailed portrait. A "P" Mint mark can also be found on this side.

On the reverse, one hand can be seen giving a sword to another hand. This design is based on the British surrender at Saratoga in 1777. The coin's date is at the bottom of the design.
