Why would this Moon Festival Proof Silver Panda commemorative be the perfect addition to your collection?
This special commemorative proof has been struck at the China Mint in order to celebrate their Moon Festival. This is a huge holiday in China, and it is very similar to our Thanksgiving. It is a very large commemorative that has been struck out of 1 Kilo of .999 fine silver! Like with many Chinese coins, this proof shows a panda. Unlike these coins however, it has a very unique feature - a 1/10th oz. .999 fine gold moon struck onto the design! If that wasn’t special enough, would the fact that it is real space gold surprise you?
Space Gold!
This small piece of small piece of gold you see representing the moon on this design once rotated around the world at 5 miles a second! Working with the China Mint, we were able to obtain this gold from NASA, in an auction! They had attached it to the front of the International Space Station in order to test the exposure of gold in space. For well over 5 years, it orbited the earth in extreme temperatures, all the while being barraged by small particles and even tiny meteors! After it was returned to earth and examined by NASA, the gold sheets they used had so many holes and punctures they resembled swiss cheese! This gold has definitely gotten a taste of space, and is exceedingly valuable! Where else will you going to find gold like this! Despite this, we are able to offer it to you on a stunning commemorative struck by the China Mint at a great price!
The Moon Festival Design
The reverse design on this silver commemorative Proof shows an image of a panda holding onto a tree branch and looking up at the moon! This stunning image is amplified even further through the use of the space gold! Inscribed on the border of this design is “Moon Festival,” and “1 Kg Ag .999.” The obverse design shows the Great Wall of China stretching off into the distance. Above it is an armillary sphere, which was the first mechanical clock. A small “Y” appears on the bottom of the design, and is the Mint Mark of the Sheyang Mint! This Mint mark has only been seen on China coinage once before, making this extraordinarily significant!
Certification from NGC as Gem Proof
This incredible proof was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). After careful examination, it was classified as Gem Proof! This high grade certifies that the commemorative is brand new from the Mint and still retains all of its Mint luster! It also certifies that the coin classifies as a 65 or above on the numerical grading scale used by NGC.
The mintage on this proof is extremely limited. Because of the highly limited amount of space gold available, only 2,000 of these commemorative have been produced. Also because of this, that mintage has been selling out extremely quickly! Don’t hesitate to secure your commemorative moon panda before they’re gone!
