Why purchase this Silver Canada Polar Bear and Cub
This Silver $8 Polar Bear and Cub offers you the opportunity to add variety to your collection with a 1 1/2 Troy oz. weight. Struck from .9999 fine silver, this piece comes to us from the Royal Canadian Mint. The reverse design makes this an ideal gift from mother to child or vice versa.
Stark Arctic Design by Germaine Arnaktauyok
The obverse design features Queen Elizabeth II against a background of radial lines. The portrait was done by Susanna Blunt and is simple yet elegant, depicting the Queen sans crown. "ELIZABETH II" is inscribed above her head, while the coin's face value, "8 DOLLARS," is inscribed below.
The reverse of this Polar Bear and Cub features the touching design by Germaine Arnaktauyok. Dominating the scene is an adult polar bear, whose massive size is shown in left-side profile. She stands much larger than her cub, which is on the lower left, as the two walk across a portion of Canada's vast frozen tundra.
Flawless Mint State 70 with Exclusive Canada Label
The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's (NGC) graders found that this coin has a perfect strike and lacks any post-production imperfections that are visible under 5x magnification, so they gave it their highest grade of Mint State 70. They provided that grade on a label that features an image of one of the country's most famous landmarks, Niagara Falls, and a Canadian flag.
