Featuring the Patriotic Designs of John Mercanti and Adolph Weinman

Obverse: The coin's obverse design previously appeared on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar of Adolph Weinman. Liberty strides confidently as she carries branches in the early morning sun while draped in the American flag. Her name, "LIBERTY," joins the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the date, "2015," among the inscriptions on this face. Adolph Weinman designed two of the best known historic American coins, the Mercury Dime and the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. He was also a sculptor, and his work remains on display in a variety of American cities.

Reverse: The reverse design was modeled off of the Great Seal of the United States by John Mercanti. It consists of thirteen stars and an eagle that clutches arrows and an olive branch while guarding a union shield. This design is encircled by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR." John Mercanti is the most prolific designer of coins and medals in American history. He spent almost four decades with the US Mint, including time as its Chief Engraver.
