Exciting Historic Rendition of Lady Liberty
The obverse features a reproduction of Adolph A. Weinman's 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar design, portraying Lady Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, gracefully walking enveloped in an American Flag. She carries a cluster of oak and laurel branches, with the sun rising over mountains in the background. Inscriptions include "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "2014."
The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, depicts a patriotically shielded heraldic eagle grasping an olive branch and arrows with thirteen stars above. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM," with a "W" Mint mark to distinguish the coin from the bullion issue.
