Why add this 2014 Mint State American Silver Eagle to your collection?

The American Silver Eagle has been a favorite numismatic collectable since its introduction by the United States Mint in 1986. The 2014 bullion issue of the Silver Eagle achieved an annual sales record for the fifth time within a six year period, with a final reported mintage of 44,006,000. The coin measures 40.6mm in diameter, is legal tender of $1 dollar, weighs 31.1 grams and is struck from 1 full Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.

A stunning Lady Liberty graces this coin.

The obverse depicts Lady Liberty striding toward a rising sun draped in the American flag. "LIBERTY" stretches overhead with the year "2014" beneath her sandal clad feet. "IN GOD WE TRUST" is written beside her. The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, portrays a heroic eagle with a shield grasping an olive branch and arrows, an image similar to the Great Seal of the United States. Thirteen stars to represent the original Colonies are arranged in a triangular pattern above. The legend "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR" frames the image; "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is inscribed across a banner held in the eagle's beak.
