A stunning Lady Liberty graces this coin.
The obverse depicts Lady Liberty striding toward a rising sun draped in the American flag. "LIBERTY" stretches overhead with the year "2014" beneath her sandal clad feet. "IN GOD WE TRUST" is written beside her. The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, portrays a heroic eagle with a shield grasping an olive branch and arrows, an image similar to the Great Seal of the United States. Thirteen stars to represent the original Colonies are arranged in a triangular pattern above. The legend "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR" frames the image; "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is inscribed across a banner held in the eagle's beak.
