2014 1/10 oz. $5 Gold Eagle
NGC MS70 Early Releases (Exclusive American Eagle Label)
The gold eagle is now in its 29th year of production, and is one of the most popular regularly produced gold coins in the world. Made from 22kt gold (.9167 fine), the American Gold Eagle has become a mainstay in the precious metals trade.
The design of the American Gold Eagle is a carefully remodeled version of the Saint-Gaudens double eagle design first struck in 1907. It is arguably one of the most beautiful designs ever struck into a coin. The reverse design, by mint engraver Miley Busiek, shows an Eagle returning to a nest to feed its young.
