2013-W American Silver Eagle - West Point 2 Coin Set
NGC SP69 & PF69 Early Releases
Why add this West Point Silver Eagle Set to your collection?
This unique American Silver Eagle set was struck by the United States Mint at West Point. The 2-coin set includes two firsts: the first "Enhanced" Silver Eagle, and the first "Reverse Proof” Silver Eagle to bear the ”W” Mint mark. The enhanced coin combines the characteristics of a frosted proof, a reverse proof and a satin finish. Half the stripes and the blue field of the flag draped around Lady Liberty feature a mirror proof finish; the remaining raised devices are frosted like a proof coin. The entire field of the coin has a satin appearance. The Reverse Proof features frosted fields and mirrored devices making it a prized collector coin. The Silver Eagle carries a value of $1 dollar, measures 40.6mm in diameter, and is 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
The obverse of these stunning coins pays homage to the "Walking Liberty" Half Dollar coin designed by Adolph A. Weinman. The reverse, by United States Mint sculptor John Mercanti, portrays a heroic eagle with a shield grasping an olive branch and arrows.
This unique American Eagle Set is graded a near perfect SP69 and PF69 by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), a highly respected coin authentication company. The Enhanced finish coin receives the designation SP, Specimen. Both coins hold the NGC Early Releases label, indicating that these coins were received by the grading service within the first thirty days of release.
