Patriotic Silver Eagle Imagery

Obverse: The obverse features the allegorical representation of Liberty created by renowned early 20th century sculptor Adolph A. Weinman, an image that initially appeared on the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Ms. Liberty is depicted walking towards the sunrise while enveloped in an American flag. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2013" and "IN GOD WE TRUST."

Reverse: A heraldic eagle is illustrated on the reverse, with a cluster of arrows and an olive branch in its grip. Designed by 12th U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti, the image is the primary defining element of the Type-1 style Silver Eagle issued from 1986 until mid-2021. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
